The site is allocated for new housing in the adopted Wakefield Local Plan. This development would complement neighbouring developments and provide a mix of three and four bedroom properties, including affordable homes.
The site is a parcel of land to the east of Cobbler’s Lane, adjacent to the railway line.
The proposed development represents the remaining northern parcel of the Wakefield Local Plan housing allocation site, reference HS15.
The proposals comprise a sustainable mix of 3- and 4-bedroom housing, within a landscaped setting. The plans include:
Around 80 family homes, including affordable housing
New areas of habitat creation and tree planting
Site access from Hartley Way
Footpath and cycleway access directly from Cobbler’s Lane
High quality homes design
Sustainable development, including an electric vehicle charging point for each home
